Terms & Conditions
By accepting and booking a Dog Grooming appointment with Simply Dog Grooming, by Sarah you agree to all the following Terms & Conditions and understand our policies set out below:
We refer to the customer/client in these T&C as the “owner” of the dog that is being groomed.
Medical/Injuries
The owner understands that it is their responsibility that their pet’s vaccinations are up to date.
The owner understands that if the dog is unwell for any reason, including, but not limited to diarrhea, cough, vomiting or has a contagious disease or infection, then the owner should inform Simply Dog Grooming, by Sarah so that we can reschedule the appointment (at no cost to the owner).
The owner will advise us if the dog has a heart condition or any ongoing medical conditions, allergies, or injuries or whether the dog requires medication. The owner will advise if the dog is recovering from recent surgery.
The owner will advise if the dog is under any form of sedation for the purposes of grooming. I do not administer sedatives and take no responsibility for any issues arising from the use of sedatives. I suggest owners seek vet advice regarding the sedation of dogs for grooming purposes.
The grooming service may be refused or ceased if it is deemed a risk to the dog’s health.
The owner will advise if the dog can have treats.
The owner understands that during the grooming process, I will examine the dog for any irregular lumps, bumps, or skin issues and if anything is found I will discuss it with you when you collect the dog. Be aware that we are not medical/veterinary trained, and I advise that professional medical advice from a vet should be sought at the owner’s discretion for any medical conditions discovered.
Senior, elderly, or disabled Pets will be accepted on a case-by-base basis.
The owner understands that senior pets may have underlying conditions that can be aggravated during or after normal grooming procedures.
Please advise me if your dog is elderly or otherwise unwell and I will determine if I can complete a safe groom.
Generally, for elderly dogs, I will only provide a basic summer cut, as to not prolong the grooming process as this can cause stress. A groom will be completed that makes the dog most comfortable.
If I feel that it’s too much on the dog to complete a full groom, I might suggest you return another day or be referred to a Vet Groomer for the safety of the dog.
Here at Simply Dog Grooming, by Sarah, I do everything to ensure the safety of your dog, however we take no responsibility for unforeseen medical episodes. While I am trained in basic animal first aid, myself and any assisting staff are not qualified veterinarians.
In the event of a major medical episode, I will do everything I can to ensure the welfare of your dog, and you agree to allow us to transport your dog by car to the nearest emergency vet clinic if it is necessary. We will attempt to contact you immediately if this arises however, any vet expenses incurred will be the owner’s responsibility.
During the groom, there are the rare occasions that your dog may experience a slight injury, such as a minor cut or abrasion, or a slight bleed of a toenail during the clipping process. If such an injury occurs, I will advise you upon collection. Most injuries will be relatively mild and will not require any treatment.
Pricing / Services
Simply Dog Grooming, by Sarah services and price list is current but prices are subject to change. The prices listed are to be used as guide only. All phone inquiries will be given a guide and a final price will be given on arrival.
If your dog has fleas, this causes extra after groom cleaning and fumigation of premises, equipment and the groomer. Additional fees may be applicable. Please let us know in advance if your dog has fleas.
Behaviour
The Owner agrees to inform us prior to the dogs grooming session if the dog bites or is aggressive.
At all times, I have the right to refuse to work with difficult or dangerous dogs, or dogs with behavioural issues. I will do everything I can to ensure that your dog is not overly stressed during their groom.
If the dog is accepted for grooming and displays overly aggressive behaviour, the groom may be terminated without being finished. If this occurs, the owner will be contacted to collect the dog. In fairness to owners, Simply Dog Grooming, by Sarah has a policy of not charging a fee in these rare circumstances.
Matting & Knots
If the dog is heavily matted, we will not complete any de-matting or “bath only” services. Such coats will require a Summer cut. (Refer to my Policy page for more on this).
To ensure the comfort of the dog, extremely matted dogs will not be brushed out. I will try my best to notify the owner before the grooming process begins if I think this will be the case. If it is determined during the groom that I cannot safely brush minor matting out,
I will use my own discretion to determine what is best and safest for your dog.
Should the dog need a Summer Cut (Shaved short) due to heavy matting, the owner understands there is a small risk of minor nicks and skin irritation (clipper burn).
There is also a small risk of nicking hidden warts or moles that are not visible under heavily matted fur.
The owner understands that where there is heavy matting, there may be a range of skin issues irritations, and conditions that may not be obvious to the owner until AFTER their groom. We will advise you if any of these conditions are evident on your dog after they are groomed.
Cancellations, Late arrival & No shows
Should the Owner be running late for an appointment, please call and advise me. I don’t have any late fees however I will need to advise following customers, so they adjust their arrival times.
If you are more than 15 minutes late, I will advise if we need to reschedule due to having appointments following on from yours.
Here at Simply Dog Grooming, by Sarah, I do not have cancellation fees, however I do ask that you advise me if you cannot come for any reason.
Pick up & drop off
Drop Off (Please refer to Policy Page for instructions)
We ask owners to ensure dogs are on a sturdy and safe leash as dogs can tend to pull when their owners are leaving. For safety it's best to use a harness or similar, especially if your dog is a bit hefty and likely to pull.
Owners must understand that if you do not bring your dog on a leash, that we do not accept responsibility if during drop off that your dog is injured or dropped as we cannot ensure their control or safety.
Owners cannot wait on site while their dog is groomed as it causes stress and behavioural issues.
Simply Dog Grooming, by Sarah requests that owners do not arrive for pick up earlier than stated. Again, this may cause distress and lead to the inability to complete the groom. When dogs see or hear their owners nearby and cannot go to them, they tend to act up. This is dangerous around sharp tools and may result in injury.
The Owner must inform us if someone else is picking up the dog. We will not hand a dog to a person we don’t know.
